Al Hussein Society for the Habilitation/Rehabilitation of the Physically Challenged, Amman, Jordan

The Al Hussein Society runs one of the largest centers for the physically challenged in Jordan.  It is a non-profit voluntary organization that seeks to provide educational, medical and rehabilitative services.

The founding of the Center was made possible through a donation of land from the Jordanian government and a generous grant from Sultan Qabous of Oman.  It was inaugurated in March 1984 by His Majesty the late King Hussein.

AHS aims to become the premier resource, referral and training Center in the Arab world for children with physical disabilities.  Al Hussein Society provides training for students from Jordanian universities and staff from other NGOs, as well as offering courses in neighboring Arab countries.  The Center has four main specializations: Education, Medical Rehabilitation, Sheltered Workshops and the Outreach Program.
