Smythe is
currently a
Rotarian in
Rotary’s
District #7620
(71 Rotary clubs
in Washington
D.C & Central
Maryland) and a
member of
Montgomery
Village Rotary
Club.
Linda served for
eighteen years
as Greece’s Head
of Mission to
Bahrain in the
capacity of
Honourary Consul
of Greece.
She also
set up and
ultimately
managed the Bell
Helicopter
dealership for
the Middle East
from its offices
in
Bahrain. She has traveled
extensively
throughout the
Arab world and
has made many
wonderful
friends in the
region.
She is a widow
and has one son,
Harry, who was
born in Bahrain.
She is
fluent in
English, Greek,
French and
speaks some
Arabic.
Her first
association with
Rotary was in
May 1996 when
she joined the
Rotary Club of
Adliya, Bahrain
in Rotary’s
District #2450.
She is
Chairperson &
Founder of the
Basra, Iraq
Prosthetics
Project which
she has been
working on since
early 2004.
